Part-Time English/Spanish Instructor

Gordon Aluminum Industries – Schofield, WI
On-site | Temporary, Part-Time
Pay: $24.00–$28.00 per hour
Up to 16 hours per week

Position Overview

Gordon Aluminum Industries is seeking a bilingual English/Spanish Instructor to provide free, on-site language classes to our employees. This position will help English-speaking employees develop practical Spanish skills and Spanish-speaking employees improve their English communication skills.

The ideal candidate will create an encouraging, respectful learning environment and tailor instruction to adult learners with different language abilities. Lessons should emphasize practical workplace communication as well as conversational language employees can use in their daily lives.

Schedule

• Approximately 3–4 hours per scheduled day
• Classes may be scheduled Monday through Friday
• Class times depends on employee scheduling. (Possible hours 11:30am to 3:30 pm)
• Maximum of 16 hours per week
• Specific hours will be established based on employee participation and shift availability
• All instruction will be conducted on-site at Gordon Aluminum Industries

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop and teach beginner- and intermediate-level English and Spanish lessons.
• Provide practical instruction focused on speaking, listening, reading, and basic writing.
• Incorporate workplace terminology, safety communication, and common manufacturing vocabulary.
• Adjust lessons based on employees’ language levels and learning needs.
• Create lesson plans, activities, handouts, and other instructional materials.
• Assess participants’ starting skill levels and monitor their progress.
• Maintain attendance and participation records.
• Provide individual assistance to employees when appropriate.
• Create an inclusive environment where employees feel comfortable practicing a new language.
• Communicate program participation, progress, and needs to Human Resources.

Requirements:

 

Qualifications

• Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to teach and explain concepts clearly in both languages.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, training, or coaching adults is preferred.
• ESL, ELL, adult education, or Spanish-language instruction experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds and skill levels.
• Strong organization, patience, dependability, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop engaging, practical lessons for a workplace environment.
• Previous manufacturing experience or familiarity with manufacturing terminology is helpful but not required.

A teaching license or formal education degree is preferred but not required. Relevant language instruction, tutoring, training, or adult-learning experience can be used in lieu of a degree or certification.

Position Duration

This is a temporary, part-time position with no established end date. The continuation of the position will depend on the success of the program, employee participation and utilization, and the ongoing needs of the company. Hours are not guaranteed and may change based on class enrollment and scheduling needs.

Compensation

The pay range is $24.00–$28.00 per hour , based on the selected candidate’s education, teaching experience, language proficiency, and ability to develop instructional materials. Gordon Aluminum Industries is an equal opportunity employer.
